Arabic:

اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلَا أَقْدِرُ، وَتَعْلَمُ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ خَيْرٌ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي، ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ شَرٌّ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي، فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ، وَاقْدُرْ لِيَ الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ، ثُمَّ أَرْضِنِي

Istikhara Dua in Roman English:

“Allah humma inni astakheeruka bi ‘ilmika, wa astaqdiruka bi qudratika, wa asaluka min fadlika al-azheem, fa innaka taqdiru wa la aqdir, wa ta’lamu wa la a’lam, wa anta ‘allamul-ghuyub. Allahumma in kunta ta’lamu anna haazal-amra khayrun li fi deeni wa ma’aashi wa ‘aaqibati amri, faqdurhu li wa yassirhu li thumma baarik li fihi, wa in kunta ta’lamu anna haazal-amra sharrun li fi deeni wa ma’aashi wa ‘aaqibati amri, fasrifhu ‘anni wasrifni ‘anhu, waqdur li al-khayra haythu kaana, thumma ardhini.”

Istikhara Dua in Urdu:

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ، وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلَا أَقْدِرُ، وَتَعْلَمُ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ.

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هٰذَا الْأَمْرَ خَيْرٌ لِّي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي (أَوْ قَالَ: فِي عَاجِلِ أَمْرِي وَآجِلِهِ)، فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ.

وَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هٰذَا الْأَمْرَ شَرٌّ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي (أَوْ قَالَ: فِي عَاجِلِ أَمْرِي وَآجِلِهِ)، فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ، وَاقْدُرْ لِيَ الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ، ثُمَّ أَرْضِنِي

Istikhara Dua in Hindi:

“हे अल्लाह! मैं तुझसे तेरे इल्म के ज़रिए खैर मांगता हूँ और तेरी क़ुदरत से ताक़त मांगता हूँ और तुझसे तेरे अज़ीम फ़ज़्ल का सवाल करता हूँ।

क्योंकि तू क़ादिर है और मैं क़ादिर नहीं, तू जानता है और मैं नहीं जानता, और तू ग़ैबों का जानने वाला है।

हे अल्लाह! अगर तू जानता है कि यह काम (यहाँ अपना मक़सद बताएं) मेरे लिए मेरे दीन, मेरी दुनिया और मेरे अंजाम के लिए अच्छा है, तो इसे मेरे लिए मुक़र्रर कर दे, और इसे मेरे लिए आसान कर दे, और इसमें मेरे लिए बरकत दे।

और अगर तू जानता है कि यह काम मेरे लिए मेरे दीन, मेरी दुनिया और मेरे अंजाम के लिए बुरा है, तो इसे मुझसे दूर कर दे और मुझे इससे दूर कर दे, और जो अच्छा हो उसे मेरे लिए मुक़र्रर कर दे, और मुझे उससे राज़ी कर दे।”

English Translation:

“O Allah, I seek guidance from Your knowledge and power and ask You from Your great bounty. Surely, you can do it, and I am not. You know, and I do not, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter is good for me in my religion, life, and end, then decree it for me, make it easy, and bless it for me. But if You know that this matter is bad for me, in my religion, my existence, and my end, then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and decree for me what is good wherever it may be and make me content with it.”

Short Istikhara Dua (Without Prayer)

If you cannot pray two rak’ahs, you can still recite:

اللّهُمَّ خِرْ لِي وَاخْتَرْ لِي

“allahumma khir li wakhtar li”

“O the almighty, choose and decide what is best for me.”
